Abhirami is a popular South Indian actress. She acted in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. She started her career as a TV anchor for the program Top Ten aired on Asianet Channel. She acted in a small role in a Malayalam film Pathram in 1999. Later she acted in hit films like Millennium Stars, Njangal Santhushtaraanu, Sraddha etc.

She acted opposite top actors in Malayalam film industry including Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Jayaram etc. Later she shifted to Kollywood starring in films like Middle Class Madhavan, Samudhiram etc. She acted opposite Prabhu Ganesan, Sharath Kumar, Arjun etc in Tamil.

Her first Tamil film was Vanavil opposite Arjun. She acted in a small role in a Malayalam film Pathram in 1999. The biggest film of her career is Virumaandi opposite Acting Legend Kamal Hassan. She won lot of critical accolades for the role she portrayed in the film. Unfortunately, she lost her charm in all the four languages in spite of becoming a SuperHeroine. Besides she acted in Telugu and Kannada films and was a popular actress in Tollywood. she acted opposite Superstar Upendra in the film Raktha Kanneeru in 2004.

Before acting in films, She acted in a 100 episode Malayalam serial Katha Purushan by Sreekumaran Thampy.
